Safe for Democracy

After each war there is a little less democracy left to save.

Focusing on the wrong thing

The United Nations reports that over ten thousand people starve to death each day, and most of you don't give a shit.  However, what is even more tragic is that most of you are more concerned about the fact that I just said a bad word than you are about the fact that ten thousand people are going to die today.

What does it Profit?

Yes, they are getting ready for another war. Why shouldn't they? It pays high dividends.
But what does it profit the masses?
What does it profit the men who are killed? What does it profit the men who are maimed? What does it profit their mothers and sisters, their wives and their sweethearts? What does it profit their children?
What does it profit anyone except the very few to whom war means huge profits?

Linearity

I have this distressing habit which I have to disclose to you.  I have a very linear mind.  I believe that this is true, and this is true and this is true and this is true and this is true and this has to happen.  What I do is I confuse two words in English - one is inevitable, and the other is imminent.

Rights and Rulers

Can anything be more ridiculous than that a man should have the right to kill me because he lives on the other side of the water, and because his ruler has a quarrel with mine, though I have none with him?
