Why do Christians hate so much?

I've been in politics long enough to expect criticism and hostility, but I was unprepared for the hatred I get from Christians.  Why do Christians hate so much?
Bill Clinton (as told by Phillip Yancey, 1994)

  1. Very! But as Christians are only human like everyone else, we fail at a lot of things, if not everything...Christians do a lot of things that God calls us to not do...sometimes I wonder if we do anything right. Why do we hate so much? Or does it come off to the other person as hate and what it was meant was a strong dislike or frustration? All in how it's percieved/taken?

I don't know, you are right though...tough no matter who says it...because it's tough to answer for all Christians people and for some whatever the answer is, it won't be enough to make it alright...

    Very thought provoking

  2. A favorite quote from Lewis I read/heard long ago and can't seem to find can be paraphrased as

"Don't blame Christianity for some of the harsh people that are Christians. You don't know what those people were like before they were Christians"

In the original I think he was talking about some grumpy old christian lady that lived around him when he grew up. No one ever really liked her, despite being a christian. But eventually he realized that as a Christian, she was probably much more pleasing to be around than before Christ was able to work at her.

  3. I like that quote...don't wonder about another's journey cause you have no idea how they got there and where they are going...type of thing...

  4. Aye, part of the whole "Don't judge other people, leave that up to He who can properly judge". A life lesson that will take a life to properly learn.
